Forest
Many years ago, The Mixedwood Plains was a huge forest with a large diversity of vegetation and trees. Today, very little of this forest remains due to the rapid growth in population of humans. There are protected areas in the Mixedwood Plains that preserves sections of this forest, including urban forests, wood lots for farms and in National Parks. In The Mixedwood Plains, you can find many different types of trees, such as pine, hemlock, maple, oak and elm. You can also find many grassy fields and meadows in The Mixedwood Plains.
